The Navy’s frigate Belharra is being built at the Naval Shipyard in Lorient
The PSIM (The Panoramic Sensors and Intelligence Module) independent module that includes the sensors and operations centers was installed, yesterday, on the FDI HN1 “Kimon” frigate of the Navy, at the Naval shipyard in the city of Lorient, France.
PSIM 40 meters high and weighing 150 tons incorporates, among others, a comprehensive digital combat system which includes sensors, computing capabilities, data center and multi-function consoles to conduct all domains of combat operations.
S60 antennas, four fixed panels are placed on the PSIM with a digital system for identifying friendly or enemy forces as well as the optronic sensors that allow panoramic visual surveillance and night and day recognition for asymmetric warfare.
PSIM architecture and sensors give the frigate its capable of surveillance and identification of airborne or seaborne military or civilian vesselsfriendly or hostile but also the ability combat surface or asymmetric threats.
Also, the PSIM incorporates the Sea Fire Radars, four new generation fixed AESA panels, multi-function and fully digital as well as the Battle Information Center, which acts as a control center for weapons, sensors as well as communication and electronic warfare systems.
