Audio from the policeman’s voice, the shot and the voices of the 17-year-old’s companions
An audio document from the pursuit and shooting of the 17-year-old Roma in the region of Viotia was presented by the central news bulletin of SKAI.
The voices can be heard in the video:
– Back, back… Stop it… Stop it
The sound of the gunshot is heard, and immediately afterwards the voices are heard:
– What do you think; Dude… Dude… Dude please..
– No God I can’t… I can’t…
– Why;
– He shot him… What made the kid shoot you?
MEGA’s main news bulletin featured eyewitness accounts. More specifically, the police officer who was with the officer who shot, testified:
“We suddenly noticed a dark car coming moving at high speed and heading from Livadeia to Thebes and behind it and far away we saw a patrol car coming with its headlights on. We immediately understood that it was the vehicle that the Aliartos police station was chasing and we started too, immediately using both the vehicle’s lights and the car’s horn which I tell you is a Conventional vehicle and not a colored patrol car. The driver in our official vehicle was the warden and I was in the passenger seat. The patrol car of the Aliartou police department was following from behind with its beacon constantly on, but also its siren which we could hear on the road. My colleague sped up and we managed to approach the above vehicle whose license plate I clearly saw and reported it to the center.
As soon as the driver of our car understood, he sped up even more, reaching about 160 km per hour and deliberately moved to the left going into the oncoming traffic. The car in question was pitch black and although we had turned on the main beam we could not see at all how many people were inside it. At some point we reached the periphery of the village church and there the vehicle got stuck for a while because it happened to have obstacles on the right and left and another car turned in front of it which cut off its course. We stopped right behind the vehicle, the driver immediately got out first and moved to the driver’s door of our front vehicle. Even at that moment I still couldn’t figure out how many people were in the car. Almost at the same time as George, I also got off the patrol car and stood directly behind it and diagonally from it so that I could also check its right side in case anyone got out of it
C… started giving orders to the driver of the vehicle, shouting loudly that we are the police and telling him to open the door and get out. He did not open either the door or the window, but he did not open any other door or window of the vehicle. Then C… grabbed the doorknob opened the car door and shouted loudly at the driver “Police, get out”. But he did not obey and did not get out of the car. Then I saw C… pulling the driver out and at some point, while he was by the door pulling him out, I heard a shot. Then I went out in front of the rear left door of the vehicle and saw that someone tried to get out of it, but I stopped him by closing the door. Arriving next door, I saw the driver of the vehicle with blood on his head and neck. George looked towards me and asked me what happened? At that time I saw that George’s gun was in his belt holster.”
The 17-year-old’s brother Roma reportedly testified:
“My brother saw a police car which signaled us, but he stepped on the gas and the car followed. We continued towards Thebes and at some point we turned to go towards Leontari. My brother ran a lot. He doesn’t have a diploma because he was seventeen years old. At some point we entered the village of Leontari. The patrol car was following with lights on and I heard the siren once too I think. On a road in the village we wedged into another parked car and stopped. The police jeep also arrived behind us. He stopped and two police officers got out. The police driver of the jeep was holding a pistol in his hand and with the front part of it, he hit my brother’s window hard once. My brother opened the door wide and the policeman kicked him in the ribs. She told him loudly “get down”. My brother put his hands up and as soon as he went to go out with his hands up he touched the pistol that was pointed at him and the policeman shot him once.”
The girlfriend of 17-year-old Roma reportedly testified:
“Then the policeman came to Christos’ window, knocked on his window without seeing what he hit the window with, opened the door and kicked him with the sole of his foot. Christos fell a little to the right and then the policeman caught Christos with both hands and took him out of the car without me seeing what Christos was doing because I was sitting behind and to the right of the car. After that, and since Christos was probably half out of the car, I heard a shot.”
