A local woman and two local men (one 17 years old) were arrested, on Friday night, in Patras, by police officers of the Patras Security Sub-Directorate, against whom a case file was filed, for the specific offenses of disturbing the peace, violence against officers and judicial persons and the violation of arms legislation.

In particular, on Friday afternoon, a group of people, who participated in a march as part of the events for the 50th anniversary of the Polytechnic uprising, having – a large part of them – covered their facial features, with helmets and full face hoods, carrying backpacks and wooden bats, attacked the police officers, throwing a number of explosive and incendiary devices (Molotov cocktails), causing fires, while they were repelled by the police forces with limited use of the necessary appropriate means.

From the aforementioned group of people, the policemen of the Support Platoons of the Achaia Police Directorate, in collaboration with policemen of the Security Sub-Directorate of Patras and the Immediate Action Department of Patras, brought three people, who were arrested, while a policeman was slightly injured by fragments of an improvised incendiary device.

In the possession of the arrested, the police found and confiscated a wooden bat, anti-suffocation masks and gloves.

In investigations carried out by the police officers of the Patras Security Directorate at the scene of the incident, they found and confiscated a total of 12 incendiary devices, 3 explosive devices, 17 Molotov cocktails and 6 butane bottles, which will be sent to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations for laboratory tests.
