Three foreigners were arrested by the port authority as responsible for the organized operation of disembarking immigrants without travel documents from a yacht on the beach Hamolia in Vravrona Attica.

According to the Coast Guard – Hellenic Coast Guard they are two Egyptians aged 47 and 20 who were arrested on the yacht off Kos, but also a 37-year-old Syrian national who was arrested in the area of ​​Athens by the security services, as the organizer of a trafficking ring and the entry of third-country nationals into Greek territory.

As stated in today’s announcement by the Coast Guard, the yacht had started from Cesme, Turkey, bound for the coasts of eastern Attica.

According to the testimonies of the immigrants themselves for their transportation, they each paid the sum of five thousand euros.

The 37-year-old who was arrested in Athens and is alleged to be the organizer of the entry of the 41 immigrants in a control carried out in two of his houses in the presence of a prosecutor, handwritten notebooks and agendas, as well as two mobile telephone devices, were found and confiscated. According to information, the arrested person also allegedly operated a shop on Liosion and through it undertook a business of transporting migrants to Europe via Greece from Turkey.
