More than twenty food distributors who participated in the protest rally called by the Thessaloniki-Pieria-Halkidiki Tourism Catering Enterprises Trade Union (SEPETE), in memory of 39 year distributor who was fatally injured last Saturday, on Apollonos Street, in Kato Toumpa, after a collision with a vehicle.

The motorcade started from the scene of the accident and progressed with half of the food distributors heading to the labor inspectorate and the other half to Kamara.

“After yesterday’s murderous decision nWhile the distribution of food in the city is not working normally, despite the stormy winds and the death of a fellow distributor in a car accident, our union has decided to declare a work stoppage today in the area of ​​responsibility of our union for the employees of the distributor’s specialty for the hours of 10:00 a.m. 13:00″, said SEPETE in a statement, while asking, among other things, to investigate the causes and circumstances of the accident, to take protection and safety measures in the work areas and to not make any distribution in extreme weather conditions. The demands of the Union also include the coverage of the costs of the motorcycle by the employer, the coverage of the income of the distributor in the event of an accident and the establishment of SSE with wage increases and fixed working hours.
