A memorandum of tourism cooperation between Greece and Malta was signed today by the Minister of Tourism, Olga Kefalogianni with her counterpart, Clayton Bartolo at a special ceremony in Valletta where the 7th Mediterranean Tourism Forum took place.

To achieve the objectives of the memorandum of understanding, a joint action plan was agreed, which includes, among others:

  • a) Institutional cooperation
  • b) Exchange of information and know-how
  • c) Information on tourism investments
  • d) Tourist promotion
  • e) Vocational tourism education and training
  • f) Cooperation within the framework of international organizations related to tourism.

Cultural and religious tourism, marine tourism, food and wine tourism, wedding tourism, as well as film-induced tourism are the main areas of special interest that can be leveraged for synergies and mutual learning.

The parties recognize the importance of tourism for strengthening the friendship between the peoples of the two countries and for the development of economic relations.
