The disasters caused on the coastal front of Halkidiki, mainly in Pefkohori, Polychrono, Hanioti, Poseidi and Siviri, have been recorded since the early morning by engineers of the municipality of Kassandra, after the last severe weather phenomena.

The engineers will then draw up the necessary report and send it to the Region of Central Macedonia by late evening, with the mayor of Kassandra, Anastasia Chalkia, requesting that her region be declared a state of emergency.

The biggest problems are located on the beach front of the municipality, where the waves of the sea destroyed sidewalks, felled trees and caused damage to electric lighting.

As Mrs. Chalkia also reported to APE-MBE, a serious problem is also observed in the Byzantine Tower in Nea Fokaia, where there is detachment of the rock. He also pointed out that there is a study ready for restoration, requesting immediately that the project be included for financing, otherwise there is a risk that the rock where the tower rises imposingly will fall.
