The 32-year-old Pakistani man was unanimously found guilty by the Heraklion Mixed Jury Courtwho had tried to rape her in her house after previously beating her, the 50-year-old farmer from Ierapetra, in whose greenhouses he occasionally worked as a day laborer.

The 32-year-old was sentenced to a total of 10 years in prisonwhile the appeal it has no stopping power and so he will go back to prison. The history of the case is as follows: On the afternoon of December 9, the 50-year-old returned home from the greenhouses and headed to the bathroom to wash. Her husband was away on foreign business. He was taken to the Ierapetra hospital where the wounds from the blows were treated in the Emergency Department. The 50-year-old had widespread abrasions on the face and mainly on the forehead and between the eyes, on the cheekbones, on the lower lip and on the right eye as well as on the collarbone and in the genital area.

The 32-year-old was arrested in the following days as a warrant was issued against him and after his confession to the competent Lasithi investigator, he was temporarily detained. At the time, among other things, he had claimed that he had consumed alcohol and was hazy.
