The University of Western Macedonia declares three days of mourning
Anna Spirtou has been fighting for her health in recent months. Despite all her adventures, she did not miss a single moment from her duties as Vice Chancellor for Administrative Affairs and Student Affairs and from the realization of her vision of holistic care which, as the PDM Senate states in its announcement, “constitutes a landmark program for the Foundation, of which we are all so proud”… “Throughout her life, she was a female fighter, defending her ideas with enviable passion and sensitivity, dreaming of a better tomorrow” says the announcement of the Senate.
As a minimum tribute, the University of Western Macedonia declares three days of mourning, the flags on the buildings of the Foundation will remain at half-mast while the funeral will take place at the expense of the Foundation.
The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 05, 2023 at 2:00 p.m., in the village of Adam in Thessaloniki (Zagliveri area). On this day the University of Western Macedonia will remain closed.
The family’s wish in lieu of laying wreaths is to support the work of the Student Support Unit for Vulnerable Groups.
