Djordjevic: “We fell around the area for Rivaldo to commit a foul – Stelios was terrible in falling”

by

In the second part of his interview, Predrag Djordjevic he continues to… give rants that might be discussed. The leader of Olympiakos for many years, in what he said in the second part of his interview with Betarades, refers to many things.

Sta foul by Rivaldo and the amazing ability the Brazilian had to score from them…”One year we lived through Rivaldo’s fouls, falling around the area with 1-2 fouls 1-0 “hello” and leaving, as a result we have had a… stop and not chasing results“, he says.

In the fall of Stelios (sr. Giannakopoulos) compared to his own… “You try to win in every way, I hadn’t won so many penalties and I hadn’t had the fall of Stelios. He was terrible, like being struck by lightning.” he said.

These words caused a new “outburst” by Neri Castillo who responded to many of what Jole mentioned.

Pendrag Djordjevic’s words in detail:

For Castillo:

“Castillo was the #1 bully, he made fun of everyone, he didn’t care. Up to a point he did it to me too, testing as far as it would take him. He took keys, put some hot creams. If we ask him, does he know what his position is? If he tells me… I don’t know which position would suit him.

Now why he got bitter I don’t know. You don’t say this opinion after 15-20 years. I played as a back, I played as a winger, I played in many positions. Castillo was a great player, he just could blow up the game at any moment. I apologize if I deprived him of his career, but he is not standing.”

On Castillo-Giovanni’s teasing of Bajevic:

“They had thrown him a piece of candy at the hotel in a friendly, I hadn’t gone, I was with the national team. Now who threw her? Castillo probably didn’t throw her, Giovanni probably threw her and hit him in the head from a floor. Castillo, out of curiosity, leaned over the balcony and saw him, then Castillo paid her and it was a mess. On his bus, they hit him, these things happened, in the locker room during training there is a lot of tension.”

Why he used his elbow in the fights: “Those two strikes you see are from the fights to learn to keep the opponents away. When I went to Red Star, Ljupko Petrovic made me learn how to keep the opponent away. I played with my elbows a lot, with today’s rules I wouldn’t even get a quarter, I’d keep getting red cards.”

For Rivaldo’s… fouls:

“Rivaldo was great at finishing, Giovanni was more talkative, Rivaldo was more serious. One year we lived from Rivaldo’s fouls, we were falling around the area with 1-2 fouls 1-0 “hello” and we were leaving, as a result of which we have suffered… stopped and not chasing the results”.

On whether he or Giannakopoulos dived more:

“You try to win in every way, I hadn’t won so many penalties and I hadn’t had the fall of Stelios. He was terrible, like being struck by lightning.”

On whether Olympiacos was favored by the arbitration:

“I think all the big teams were favored and wronged, this is the truth and it’s not just for Greece, all the big teams are favored and wronged. From the racing part, you impose the favor. Some years we won championships because we had a very good team, some others because we were lucky. That we were favored in some things, we were favored.

But we were already wronged like in Roberto Carlos the penalty or in OAKA again with Real where Giannakopoulos passes Kanithareth and overturned him and the referee said the game is on. Football is a man’s sport, it has contacts. And Maradona got the World Cup with the hand of God, what did he have to do to go get it back? You try, if it passes, it passes…”

For the mural in Karaiskakis:

“So that we don’t confuse some things. One Olympiacos and another some who are in the management of the team. The only thing I suspect is what happened in the negotiation with Gianniotis. The child was not happy and the proposal made by the team was not satisfactory. Gianniotis did not see tomorrow at Olympiakos and we decided not to renew, there was some misunderstanding there.

It has nothing to do with the president, I don’t know what they conveyed to reach this misunderstanding and for what happened with the mural, it is reasonable to be a little upset. It is a very delicate matter when you are an agent, the misunderstanding happened with 2-3 people not with the president. I asked for a meeting with the president but he was on some trip and it didn’t happen, so this is done with the mural.”

For when he had a personal rival, Georges:

“It’s not only Georgeas’ fault, he also had Tsiartas in front who never turns back. When we played with AEK we asked which side Tsiartas would be on, because he would have space because he wouldn’t follow you defensively”.

For Alexander:

“Alexandris is absolutely right, that year was towards the end of his career. The management decided that I should go out last and lift the trophy myself, while he was the first captain. It was a management decision, I had nothing to do with it, when I went out and saw the crowd I lost it and didn’t call him out, it was my fault that I didn’t call him out and I publicly apologize to him. I should have given him the trophy, but in that moment I lost it, it’s my fault.”
