The afternoon march for the completion of 15 years has begun from the murder of Alexandros Grigoropoulos while the University was closed a while ago.

At the same time, the Police’s water-launching vehicles, the “Aiantes”, are also on hand, while the presence of police forces around Exarchia will be increased.
Also, the Traffic will proceed with traffic interventions gradually and depending on the conditions.
Since the morning, various actions have been taking place to mark the 15th anniversary of the murder of Alexandros Grigoropoulos. Earlier in the afternoon, the march of students, teachers, organizations and collectives was completed. At 18:00 there is a call from collectives, unions and agencies again in Propylaia.
Police barriers and patrols are determined according to the itineraries of the gatherings – marches.
“Paneistimio” Metro station was closed at 9 am and “Monastiraki” station from 11:00 to 15:00 and from 18:00 until later.
Trains will pass through these stations without stopping.
Traffic regulations
Emergency traffic regulations on various road axes in the center of Athens will take place during noon and afternoon hours on Wednesday, December 6, 2023, due to the gatherings-marchs that have been announced to mark (15) years since the assassination of Alexandros Grigoropoulos.
The traffic regulations will be carried out gradually and according to the presented traffic conditions.
Measures to facilitate traffic in the wider area of the center of Athens have been planned and will be taken by the Attica Traffic Directorate.
The Police appeals to drivers to avoid driving and parking their vehicles in the wider area of the event venues, both to serve them and to avoid additional traffic problems.
As ELAS announced, the police officers who they will participate in the measures will wear cameras on their uniforms during the checks.
In its announcement, ELAS typically states that “it was decided to install and operate portable surveillance systems of the P.D. 75/2020, by the Directorate of Police Operations of Attica (hand-held cameras) and the Sub-Directorate of Special Operational Actions/D.A.A. (body worn cameras), during the implementation by officers of their Services, of the operational planning of the General Police Directorate of Attica in the context of public open-air gatherings and marches in the area of Athens surrounded by the streets/boulevards: L.
