As the overpopulation of wild boars has long plagued Evia, an incident involving the injury of a hunter occurred earlier this morning in Karystos.

The man was attacked by the large wild animal suddenly having gone to a wooded spot on the mountain to target game.

Fortunately, he was not seriously injured and only has cuts and bruises on his leg and right hand.

The mountain of Karystos has always been a favorite spot for hunters, however it needs special attention for whoever chooses to hunt there as there are many herds of wild boars.

In fact, as the hunter pointed out, speaking to evima.gr, they show particular aggression and not infrequently the locals have spotted them in lower places, within the inhabited fabric.

“At para five”, however, it is recalled that he escaped the worst, in the previous days, and a hunter in the area of Agios in northern Evia.

In particular, the hunter, while he was near his prey, fired his shotgun, causing the shrapnel to go right past his face and injure him in the hand.

He immediately went to the Istiaia health center where he was offered first aid and then by EKAB ambulance he was transported to the general hospital of Chalkida in order to be operated on and the shrapnel removed.
