What will happen with the new tariffs?
In a question about new pricing, Mr. Haris Sahinis said that “the picture for the next day of water tariffs, given the new regulatory framework, is expected to become clear within the next six months”.
“We will wait for the KYA for the costing and invoicing to see exactly how the tariff will work and then we will discuss with the Regulatory Authority for Waste, Energy and Water Supply (RAAEF) to see what it will accept from the costs, from the investments and these will set up the invoice. Then we will know what will happen to the tariffs, if they will stay the same, if they will go up. In six months we will have a much better idea of what will happen with the invoices” he said.
He repeated, however, that EYDAP provides the second cheapest water worldwide, according to Global Water Intelligence, while it ranks first in terms of water quality among 180 countries worldwide, according to the Yale University Environmental Performance Index. Finally, the managing director of EYDAP, Haris Sahinis, regarding the expansion of EYDAP’s activities in neighboring regions such as Boeotia, Fokida, Corinthia – acquisition of DEDYA, stated that the existence of a large company, as long as there is a regulatory framework, and economies can be developed scale, it is a good development to meet the challenges for uninterrupted operation.
