A civil suit show has announced that it will testify in its case Oliver in Arachova, the Panhellenic Philanthropic Federationwhile already appointing one of the most important scientists, Professor Dimitris Tontis, professor of the University of Thessaly, as a technical advisor in the case.

With the investigations into the severe abuse of the unfortunate animal continuing and the deputy prosecutor of the Supreme Court, Anastasia Masoura, who supervises animal protection matters, being on the lookout for the case, the Panhellenic Philanthropic Federation in its announcement refers to a lot of omissions and incredible sloppiness with which they attempted to refute, without evidence, the veterinary opinion of the only veterinarian who managed the case when Oliver was still alive.

The Federation speaks of a “worrying degradation of the case” on the part of the competent authorities and declares that it will be presented as a civil action to the judicial authorities with technical advisor Mr. Tontis Professor of Animal Pathology and Veterinary Forensics, Director of the Veterinary Laboratory of the University of Thessaly .

The announcement in detail

Oliver’s case remained open thanks to society’s insistence that the crime be investigated with the required seriousness, in terms of a modern European state, not a banana. Because the sloppiness and manipulations, practical and communicative, of the authorities and the now obvious attempt to restore the reputation of the crime scene, at the expense of solving the crime and at the expense of the safety of the residents, only cause indignation.

From day one, we have seen the basic principles of investigation and forensics not being followed. We have seen the competence of the only veterinarian who examined the animal before it succumbed to its injuries be questioned and her report of sharp penetration wounds to the animal’s anus, broken ribs and blows to the head be discredited. We saw a version promoted by the authorities about an alleged attack by a stray, which was not substantiated or supported by any findings (on the contrary, Oliver’s body did not bear bite marks).

From the news coverage and the description of the handling of the authorities, we found the alarming degradation of the case, despite the fact that we released evidence of the correlation of sexual violence against animals and sexual abuse of minors.

The PFO has declared a representation in support of the charge and has appointed a technical advisor, Mr. Dimitris Tontis, Professor of Animal Pathology and Veterinary Forensics, Director of the Laboratory of Veterinary Medicine of the University of Thessaly.
