The recruitment of 150 drivers for the OASTH is in the final stretch, while the supply of 110 new electric buses, which will be on the streets of Thessaloniki at the end of April, follows, as was pointed out during the meeting held today in Thessaloniki by the Minister of Infrastructure and of Transport, Christos Staikouras with the president and CEO of the organization, Costas Tangiris.

“Consistent with our commitments towards the people of Thessaloniki, we are proceeding as soon as possible to substantially strengthen the staff of the OATH, in order to improve the transport service of our fellow citizens. We are thus implementing another important step for upgrading the services of OASTH to the passenger public”, pointed out the Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, Christos Staikouras.

As he said, the next step is the supply of 110 new electric buses which are expected to be on the streets of Thessaloniki at the end of April and “of course, the operation of the Metro in Thessaloniki in the second half of 2024. With a plan, methodical and intensive effort, we improve the quality of life of the citizens and visitors of Thessaloniki”, pointed out Mr. Staikouras.

As stated in today’s relevant announcement, the OATH sent today to the Supreme Personnel Selection Council (ASEP) the list of the successful candidates of the competition, who, based on the planning, are expected to take up their duties in January.

“Finally, after 12 years, recruitments are being made at OASTH and from the beginning of January, Thessaloniki will get a big traffic breather. Fifty additional buses will ply the streets every day. We thank the leadership of the Ministry who overcame the problems that existed due to the “special liquidation” and gave the green light for recruitment”, pointed out the president and CEO of the organization, Konstantinos Tangiris.

With the integration of the new drivers, an additional 50 buses will be launched to serve the transportation needs of Thessaloniki, strengthening as a priority the lines that have a large passenger traffic, namely:
