Traffic regulations will come into force today Friday 29/12 in Thessaloniki for the funeral of 31-year-old police officer Giorgos Lyggeridis who lost his life in the incidents in Rentis.
According to the police, there will be a procession on the streets outside the Holy Church of Agios Dimitrios (part of the street will remain closed), Katsimidis, Konstantinou Karamanlis, National Road Thessaloniki – N. Moudanion, Marino Antipa, Charilaou Thermis Street and outside the cemeteries of the Holy Church of the Resurrection of the Lord in Thermi.

“Ahead of the exodus procession of deputy constable Georgios Lyggeridis, which will take place in the holy church of Saint Dimitrios on Friday 12-29-2023, who was fatally injured while on duty on 12-07-2023, traffic arrangements will be made.
A procession will follow on the streets outside the Holy Church of Agios Dimitrios (part of the street will remain closed), Katsimidis, Konstantinos Karamanlis, National Road Thessaloniki – N. Moudanion, Marino Antipa, Charilaou Thermis Street and outside the cemeteries of the Holy Church of the Resurrection Of the Lord in Thermi”.
Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis will be present at the funeral procession of 31-year-old police officer Giorgos Lyggeridis who died after the incidents in Rentis, in Thessaloniki, according to a statement from the Prime Minister’s office.
