Two young robbers, 18 and 25 years old, of Albanian origin, who broke into the house of a 73-year-old Kefalonian, beat and stabbed him, were arrested, during the spontaneous procedure on Thursday afternoon (28/12), in Kefalonia, by police officers of the Argostoli Security Department and OPKE… accused of attempted robbery and violation of the arms law.

At the same time it was found that they had no documents for their legal stay in the country. The police investigation revealed that the two perpetrators broke the window of the elderly man’s house in Agia Efimia, with one of them, the 25-year-old, entering the house and the 18-year-old guarding “chilies”.

At that time, the 73-year-old entered his house and was suddenly attacked with a knife by the 25-year-old Albanian attacker. stabbing him approximately 10 times, causing grievous bodily harm to his abdomen and shoulder blade.

Then together with his accomplice, they fled.

The victim managed to get out into the street covered in blood and call for help, collapsing in the nearest house he found. The injured was immediately taken to the Argostoli hospital where he underwent surgery.

However, he was later transported by helicopter to the University Hospital of Ioannina. His health condition is considered very critical. From the thorough investigation by the police, the details of the 2 perpetrators were identified, who, after careful searches, were located and arrested, yesterday afternoon, in an area of ​​Kefalonia.

A preliminary investigation is being carried out by the Security Department of Argostoli in cooperation with the Police Department of Sami. Those arrested will be taken to the Criminal Prosecutor of Kefallinia.
