The rank of Vice-Captain will be awarded to pilot Epaminondas Kostea, who lost his life in the line of duty when the training plane he was on crashed at the military airport of Kalamata.
In particular, in the announcement of the Ministry of National Defense it is stated that with Presidential Decree to be issued, at the proposal of the Minister of National Defense Mr. Nikos Dendias, following the recommendation of the Chief of General Staff General Constantinos Floros and the decision of the Council of Chiefs of General Staff (SAGE), the rank of Vice Admiral (I) Epaminondas Kosteas (AM: 63824) is awarded, who died in the performance of duty involving increased risk.

A few minutes later, a memorial service was held in the holy church of Panagia Pantanassa in the Papagou camp.
