The prosecutor filed a criminal prosecution for manslaughter and attempted manslaughter, also with manslaughter, against the 44-year-old Norwegian who stabbed and killed the 32-year-old policeman in a beer bar on Katsimidis Street, in Thessaloniki, in the early hours of Thursday.

Yet, the public prosecutor prosecuted the accused for carrying and using a weapon.

The 44-year-old was referred to apologize to the 4th ordinary investigator of Thessaloniki, from whom he got a deadline for tomorrow, at 12 noon, and remains in custody.

The 44-year-oldwho had been living in Greece for about nine years and was a well-known customer in the store and in the neighborhood, he arrived at the Thessaloniki Courthouse shortly before 10:00 today accompanied by men from the Thessaloniki Security Service, even wearing a bulletproof vest.

The 44-year-old’s lawyer, Theodoros Karagiannis, argued among other things about the fatal incident that his principal had no intention to kill and was even informed by the lawyer himself yesterday at 18:30 that the victim ended up.

“What is disputed and is to be investigated is that he had no intent to killwhile to investigate is also the situation that was, in terms of drunkenness, mental health and the exact circumstances under which the fatal blow came»said Mr. Karagiannis.
