by

A 62-year-old man fell into an elevator shaft located at the entrance of the building of the Drama Regional Unit, without fortunately endangering his life.

However, he needed the help of the Fire Department in order to be released and then transported to the general hospital in order to receive first aid.

The unfortunate man today at noon used one of the elevators located inside the headquarters where the services of the Drama Regional Unit and other public services are housed. When he opened the door behind it, it was not the chamber but the gap, as a result of which he fell from a height of about three meters and found himself in the basement.

Disturbance prevailed and the Fire Department was called immediately. Firefighters managed to free the 62-year-old and transport him to the hospital. However, it remains unknown why there was no cabin behind the elevator door.

The Deputy Regional Governor of Drama, George Papadopoulos, speaking to APE – MPE, stated that he was informed of the incident while he was in Komotini in a meeting with the Regional Governor of AMTH, Christos Metios. As he said, returning to Drama, he will investigate if there was an issue with the safety of the elevator and will personally contact the unfortunate man.
