EDE for the death of the 15-month-old infant
A Sworn Administrative Examination is to be conducted at the Bodosakeio hospital of Ptolemaida in which the 15-month-old boy breathed his last after a severe respiratory infection.
According to information, the child was taken by his parents, they took the child at 23:00 on Tuesday, (2/1/), with a high fever, to the Pediatric Clinic of the Hospital, where, despite the efforts of the doctors, he expired, four hours later. An autopsy was performed and the baby died of a severe respiratory infection.
More information is expected from the results of toxicological and histological tests which will be known in a few days. Reports indicate that the infant had congenital health problems.
According to ertnews.gr, the administration and the Nosocomial Infections Committee of Ptolemaida Hospital are taking measures due to the outbreak of covid-19 infections.
In this direction, visiting cards are suspended in all departments of the Hospital.
Where this is deemed necessary, one companion per patient and up to 2 companions in the Pediatric department is allowed, while the companions must have undergone a rapid test for the detection of coronavirus (rapid test) within 48 hours before their arrival at the hospital.
