EKAV doctors rescued under difficult conditions a pregnant woman from Karpathos and the child she was carryingstates in his post the Minister of Health, Adonis Georgiadis, who even reveals that the child was born in the ambulance on the way to the hospital.

In particular, as reported by the Minister of Health, on Saturday night flying rescuers and doctors ECAV they took off for Karpathos in order to pick up a woman about to give birth. Due to the bad weather, the aircraft could not land in either Rhodes or Heraklion, so it flew to Athens where it landed at “El. Venizelos”.

The doctors and nurses of the airport clinic received the pregnant woman and after she was stabilized in the EKAB clinic, her transfer to the hospital began, but 10 minutes before she arrived, labor began in the ambulance. Everything went well and a little later, the rescuers handed over to the doctors of the maternity hospital “Elena Venizelou» a healthy little girl.

Last night the flying rescuers and doctors of the EKAV, under difficult weather conditions, take off for Karpathos regarding an incident of a woman’s bed… duty dictates… they pick up the woman… due to the bad weather conditions the aircraft cannot land either in Rhodes or in Heraklion… Forced direction to Athens… Emergency landing at Eleftherios Venizelos! The time is 1:15 in the morning and the doctors and nurses of the EKAV Clinic at the airport are ready to stabilize the unconscious woman. An EKAV ambulance crew is on standby for her immediate transfer to G.N. “ELENA VENIZELOU”. The interest rate is fixed at the EKAV Clinic at the airport El. Venizelos, and her transfer to the Hospital begins… 10 minutes before the arrival… a little girl… she couldn’t wait any longer… The delivery begins in the ambulance! Everything’s Alright!
