Seven people were sentenced to 8 months in prison, suspended for three years, for taking driving licences bypassing the written exam process without compensation.
The convicted persons were found guilty by the Second Degree Court of Misdemeanor Appeals of Thessaloniki for bribing an employee with a plea of guilty, while 13 people were acquitted by the same decision.

According to the case file, the case was revealed in Serres and related to the period between 2016/17.
From the investigations of the prosecuting authorities it emerged that dozens of prospective drivers paid amounts from 500 to 2000 euros to pass the written exam, where they faced difficulty.
Among the defendants were Greeks, foreigners and expatriates.
At the center of the prosecuting authorities were individuals and an employee of the Directorate of Transport, for whom the case file was separated. After the case was revealed, the diplomas of the persons involved were revoked.
A total of 42 people were charged, of which 21 were convicted at first instance (the rest were either acquitted or entered into a plea bargain, while one did not appear at the Court of Appeal and his appeal was deemed unsupported).
