Up to €250,000 to hitmen for each death contract they carry out – Ex-Soviet hitmen ‘imported’ people who killed 44-year-old
In the war for fuel smuggling and the investigation into the murder by executioners of her 44-year-old godfather seems to be leading to the dark paths of the money-making racket that the sale of adulterated gasoline from gas station chains yields Greek MafiaVangelis Zampounis, or better known in mafia circles, “Ham”.
Everything shows that the war for the leadership of the Greek Mafia circuit, which seems to have focused its main activity on the trafficking of adulterated gasoline, is in full swing, which has alarmed the authorities. Zampounis’ killing was the 5th in recent years that appears to be related to the smuggling of adulterated gasoline, as the competition is huge and the profits incalculable.
According to information, the Greek Mafia circuit operates in an organized manner and cooperates with supporting networks outside of Greece. Apparently they control a large network through which they transport chemical solvents from Bulgaria to Greece. With smaller tankers, they transport the counterfeit substance to the gas stations they own. The cost to buy the chemical solvents is very small, while the selling prices of gasoline are very high, so the profits are huge.
In the last seven years, 25 death contracts have been executed. The latest five killings are said to be related to fuel smuggling, as those killed are described as shady petrol station owners.
The “masters” are said to be using a large company of paid assassins based in foreign countries. The executioners of Zampounis are estimated by the police to have traveled to Greece from their former country Soviet Union. Immediately after the completion of their mandate, it is most likely that they fled outside of Greece.
According to the same information, the consideration for each death contract ranges from several tens of thousands of euros, up to 250,000 euros depending on the case.
The police are examining all the details of the murder of 44-year-old Vangelis Zampounis and are correlating them with evidence from previous cases to find common ground.
