During today’s (Thursday) eighth day of testimony, the questions of the prosecutor of the MOD Headquarters were answered by Rula Pispirigou who is asked to give her own answers for the attempt and Georgina’s murder.

Putting at the center of her interest the messages exchanged by R. Pispirigou, after Georgina’s first objection, with the head of the Children’s ICU of the University Hospital in Rio Andreas Iliadisthe prosecutor asked the defendant several questions about whether the mother had interfered with the child’s treatment.

Prosecutor: Have you ever changed the child’s diet?

Defendant: No! It is impossible that I have made a change. Only after his instructions.

Prosecutor: “We don’t play with these drugs, they are suppressive…” Mr. Iliadis tells you… He tells you “with caution”. Were you messing with Georgina’s meds?

Defendant: No…

Prosecutor: “Why did you rush” he tells you, why do you ask him about melatonin… He tells you “they are not depots but depressants and may synergize with melatonin”…

During the reading of the disputed messages, R. Pispirigou said that when the doctor informed him about an increased dose, he had replied that it was okay, with the prosecutor reading her a message in which Mr. Iliadis told the accused “not 20 but 5 mg from tomorrow…20 mg is an adult dose.” To the prosecutor’s question about the reason she gave an extra dose to Georgina, the defendant replied again that the doctor told her it was okay.

Prosecutor: Yes, but he tells you later. Why did you give more?

Defendant: He says it’s okay…

Prosecutor: You have already given it, it is a sedative. Did you really bother or didn’t you bother dose?

Accused:…

Prosecutor: He told you to increase the dose gradually and you got it overnight to 20mg.

Defendant: I may have made this mistake, but my child was not harmed. Then he got…

The accused, when asked if she regretted anything, answered crying: “I think I didn’t give my child as much love and importance as I wanted, because I did not know that he would pass away and I paid attention to secondary things.

The prosecutor then asked a series of questions about the care of the 9-year-old, again invoking messages to show that there was a day when the child was completely fasting or others when she vomited, had diarrhea or was constipated for several days.

The prosecutor also asked questions about the messages between Georgina’s two parents and their relationship. One of the things that provoked the prosecutor had the defendant as the sender, saying to Daskalakis: “If you wanted the good of your child, you wouldn’t have left.”

Defendant: Am I to blame for our relationship?

Prosecutor: No you are not to blame for your relationship. We are interested in where the child is in the messages. In the critical period when she is preparing to go for the MRI… (Refers to the time after the first interruption, when Georgina has already suffered encephalopathy).

The defendant repeated: “I have said that I had two things to manage: my child and Mr. Daskalakis… When you are outside you can sing many songs. Now I realize my mistakes, now that I’m out. As a motive, what they have accused me of, I consider stupid, meaningless, but there is no such case. They are wrong moves, I agree, but it has nothing to do with our child…”.

Referring to Georgina’s first collision in Karamandanio, in April 2021, from where she had been transferred to Rio, the defendant reiterated that she does not know what caused it, while regarding Georgina’s fatal second collision in Aglaia Kyriakou, in January 2022, she repeated: ” Regarding my child’s death, I believe it was a prolonged epileptic fit.”

During her examination by a member of the court, Roula Pispirigou at one point became irritated when the judge persisted with the questions and accused her of speaking ironically: “You are talking to me in an ironic tone and you are talking to a mother who is accused…” said Roula Pispirigou.

The president immediately intervened in the dialogue: “We were not mocking you. You probably haven’t seen irony… Don’t answer if you don’t want to, the attack you’re making on your colleague is unjustified.”

Judge: Was ketamine given or not?

Defendant: I don’t know I have desperately asked for my child’s blood to be tested. I question everything now… I can’t answer about the ketamine if they put it in, for what reason.. Lots of lies.
