“The members of the investigative committee must investigate everything that can lead to the discovery of the essential truth and lead to safe conclusions about the causes of the tragedy and the personal responsibilities of those who caused it.” This is what they state in their statement the MPs of the governing majority in the inquiry committee for “the investigation of the Tempe crime” in response to the extrajudicial appeal of the train driver’s family.

Specifically, they state the following:

“First of all, we are not going to enter into the confrontation process with any family that lost their man in this huge tragedy of Tempe.

We fully respect both the memory of the innocent people who lost their lives and the unspeakable pain of the relatives who are living their own Golgotha.

However, we must note that according to the Constitution and the Rules of Procedure of the Parliament, the members of the investigation committee must investigate everything that can lead to the discovery of the essential truth and lead to safe conclusions about the causes of the tragedy and the personal responsibilities of those who they provoked her.

In this context, we have acted and will continue with a view to the complete clarification of the case respecting the Constitution and the laws of the state.

We firmly believe that this mandates our debt to the state.

The intensity of our effort in this direction is not going to soften.”
