“Next is the phase of clearing the area of the remaining Hamas fighters,” the prime minister of Israel emphasized
Israel has dismantled nearly two-thirds of Hamas’ military force in the Gaza Strip, it claimed today Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahupledging that the war would continue until “total victory”.
“There are two legs to the military operation: The first is the dismantling of the Hamas battalions,” Netanyahu told a news conference in Tel Aviv. “So far 16 or 17 of the 24 have been destroyed,” he claimed. “Next is the phase of clearing the area (of the remaining Hamas fighters). The first leg is shorter, the second takes longer,” continued the Israeli prime minister.
Showing a photo of a slain soldier, Netanyahu stressed that his death – like that of his colleagues – would not be in vain, vowing that military operations would continue until the defeat of Hamas and to release the hostages held in Gaza Strip.
“It will take many more months until victory, but we are determined to achieve it,” explained his prime minister Israel.
