On her first seaplane test flight Hellenic Seaplanes from the water field of Lavrio, the Deputy Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, responsible for Transport, flew Christina Alexopoulou.
“This is an important day for the transport of Greece, as the development of a network of waterways is a goal for the government of Kyriakos Mitsotakis. By the summer, after all, itineraries will have started in Western Greece and in particular the Patras-Corfu-Paxos line will be fully active, given that these waterways are licensed”, said Mrs. Alexopoulou.
“At the same time, the ministry Infrastructure and Transport will make a decisive contribution to create in the country a complete, modern network of waterways and water fields, with a development perspective and multiple benefits for the Greek economy. This is an initiative that significantly boosts tourism in the island country, providing safe transportation,” he added.
On board the flight, as stated in a ministry announcement, were the Minister of Health, Adonis Georgiadesthe Deputy Minister of Shipping, Yannis Pappas and the Deputy Minister of Citizen Protection, Andreas Nikolakopoulos.
