According to information, the body of the 31-year-old had gunshot wounds. Now, the police are looking for the weapon with which he was shot – reportedly in the back – in order to cross-reference information about its owner.

His body, which is in advanced decay, was found by the dog that has been taking part in the investigations since yesterday. According to reports the first identification of the body was made by the clothes worn by the 31-year-old on the day of his disappearance.

A medical examiner was immediately informed and arrived at the scene. The forensic examination on the body of the 31-year-old man, who was found with gunshot wounds in a prone position, in a marshy area with reeds, east of the Messolonghi lagoon, is expected to be carried out in Patras tomorrow.

In particular, according to information, the conclusion of the forensic examination will definitively determine whether the man’s death was caused by the shots he received, or by suffocation after the shots.

Specifically, it will be clarified whether the man was shot where he was found dead, or at another point and then taken to the marshy area where his body was found.

As far as the official identification of the body is concerned, it is expected to be done at the forensic service of Patras, both through identification by relatives and through the examination of genetic material.

The 50-year-old butcher was temporarily detained after his confession before the investigator of Messolonghi, for the case of the 31-year-old’s disappearance.

The 50-year-old, who has been charged with manslaughter, was taken to the Messolonghi courthouse early this morning, but his plea began shortly after 12:00 noon. After the conclusion of the apology, an investigator and prosecutor judged the 50-year-old temporary prisoner. When the butcher left the courthouse, accompanied by a strong police force, the crowd began to boo him.
