The Reception and Solidarity Center of the Municipality of Athens (K.Y.A.D.A.) has been put on alert since the morning of Wednesday 01-24-24 to protect the homeless from the low temperatures.
In particular, the K.Y.A.D.A. from Wednesday 01-24-24, at 6:00 a.m. puts into operation 24 hours the Street Work Program, the Dormitory of the Multipurpose Homeless Center and its call center, ensuring that our vulnerable fellow citizens are not exposed to the cold.
The 24-hour Street Work teams will intervene in parts of the city where there are people in need, encouraging them to find warmth in the structures of the Municipality of Athens that work for housing, lodging and feeding them and helping those who find it difficult to transfer to the Dormitory of the Multipurpose Homeless Center (Acharnon and Liosion), which will be open 24 hours a day for their safe accommodation. At the same time, the interdisciplinary teams will operate in the streets, distributing hot tea, raisins, toast, food, clothing and blankets and will intervene in places where there are people who need care.
The call center of the Reception and Solidarity Center of the Municipality of Athens (210-5246515/6 ext. 0) will also be open 24 hours until the end of the bad weather, where citizens can report places with homeless people who need support from the Street Work teams .
