Targeted actions and intensive traffic controls of the Attica Traffic Directorate were carried out on Thursday evening, emphasizing areas where improvised races are held, with the aim of preventing traffic accidents and ensuring the smooth movement of citizens.

In particular, specialized police officers of the Traffic Accident Control & Prevention Team (T.E.P.T.A.) proceeded to arrest 11 people, and to certify 122 violations, to drivers moving on Marathonos, Spaton, Skaramangas, Schistos and Vouliagmeni Avenues , on the beach of Athens – Souni (RIBAS), as well as in Platanou Square in the area of ​​Kifissia.

In more detail, 10 people were arrested for driving without a driving license and 1 for drunkenness, while in total the violations that were confirmed related to:

•27 for speeding,

•24 for not using a seat belt,

•10 for driving without a driver’s license,

•6 for not using a protective helmet,

•6 for noises,

•5 for tinted windows,

•5 for lack of mirrors,

•3 for traffic light violation,

•2 for abnormal maneuvers,

•2 for K.T.E.O.,

•1 for lack of muffler,

•1 for an inconspicuous sign,

•1 for drunk driving,

•1 for mobile phone use,

•1 for lack of license plate and

• 27 other violations.

At the same time, 5 pairs of license plates, 42 driving licenses and 20 traffic licenses were removed, while 11 were immobilized and 4 vehicles were transported.

As emphasized in the relevant announcement: “checks will continue with the same intensity in other areas of Attica, which present increased and dangerous delinquency, with the aim of eliminating traffic accident phenomena and safeguarding human life.”
