The farmers of Thessaly are intensifying their mobilization as today they marched with hundreds of tractors in the center of Larissa while the farmers in central Macedonia proceeded to the first blockade of a main road in Nea Moudania.

Today, farmers in Larissa marched with the guidance of the police in the center of the city where they lined up their tractors around the square.

Farmers and breeders are preparing for tomorrow’s big rally in the square of Larissa while they will also move to reinforce the Platykampos block.

In their demands, the farmers say they are asking for solutions to high production costs, low prices of farm products, damage from the bad weather Daniel and the new common agricultural policy.

In the coming days there will be a committee of farmers that will be formed for talks with the government while at the same time they will organize their next moves for the Agrotica which begins on February 1 where the farmers’ mobilizations will culminate.

At the same time, an extended meeting was held today under the Prime Minister, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, during which the agricultural mobilizations were discussed.

According to sources, the meeting did not discuss specific measures, but rather an overview of the government’s overall interventions for those affected by all relevant ministries, and the message sent from the Maximos Palace is that the door of the Ministry of Rural Development is always open, while emphasizing that the government does not seek tension, but listens to the demands of the farmers.
