Tea Shop, a chain specializing in teas, opened its first street unit in São Paulo. The space, opened in November in Vila Madalena, is a franchise of the brand that emerged in Spain and has been in Brazil for a decade. The other unit in the capital of São Paulo is in the Cidade São Paulo shopping mall, on Avenida Paulista.

The new street store promotes an immersion in the world of teas. For beginners, helpful attendants explain the main functions of each drink and help when choosing the option to take home, according to each person’s taste.

For those already experienced in this world, the house sells around 130 types of teas and infusions, as well as accessories such as cups, measuring cups, teapots, filters and infusers, among others.

Daily, there are free tastings with two options of teas and infusions, which vary each week. Just arrive at the location to participate.

By definition, the word tea designates only the drink prepared with tea leaves. Camellia sinensis. It is divided into four groups: white, oolong, green and black teas. Infusions are made by soaking herbs, flowers and fruits in hot water.

The brand’s own production, the teas and infusions are sold in individual sachets, for R$5.90, or by weight. Fifty grams cost, on average, R$50 to R$55 and yields around 25 cups.

The main new feature of the street store is a menu of tea-based food and drinks to be consumed on site.

Bubble teas are a hit. They contain flavored gelatin balls (strawberry, passion fruit or green apple) that explode in your mouth. There are other combinations such as blast berry fields (R$ 22.90), made with black tea blended with red fruits and milk. Pure teas can be enjoyed in a mug (R$ 15) or in a teapot for two people (R$ 25).

To eat, the highlight is the vegetarian or vegan savory and sweet dishes. Suggestions include tofu esfiha (R$ 10), heart of palm or jackfruit pie (R$ 12.90) and vegetable pie (R$ 16). For sweets, there are pies (from R$19.90), cake (R$10), tea-based macarons (R$7.90) and stroopwafel (from R$4.90).

There is also a selection of artisanal vegan chocolates and ready-to-eat frozen meals to take home. Other products such as jellies, beauty items made from tea and gift sets complete the portfolio. It is also possible to place orders for delivery.
