The three men who were trapped were taken to a safe place since last night in the Korifi Kyras area in the Tribe of Attica.

According to the fire department, the three men with the help of an EMAK tankand specifically two crawlers, as well as the Mountaineering Search and Rescue Team of the 1st EMAK, were freed.

The three men were trapped in their vehicle last night and called the fire service around 11.30pm.

The fire brigade, from the moment they were alerted, tried to approach the vehicle in the adverse weather conditions prevailing in the area, as there was low cloud cover, limited visibility, weak snowfall and winds around 9 Beaufort.

A rescue helicopter was on standby to assist, however the weather conditions did not allow it to take off. According to the fire department, the three men had started with their vehicle from Stefani Boiotias and got stuck on a dirt road, while the prohibition and stoppage of traffic was in force on L. Fylis, from the height of the holy monastery of the Dormition of the Virgin Kleisten to Dervenohoria, in both traffic streams, due to the “AVGI” bad weather.

Earlier, the two men who were trapped in their vehicle in the Retsinades Tribe area had been taken to a safe place. The two men had started in their vehicle from Avlonas and were heading towards Krya Pigi Phylis, despite the traffic stoppage in force due to the “AVGI” bad weather. Their vehicle got stuck in Retsinades Fili, due to the heavy snowfalls that had occurred, as a result of which they called the fire brigade, who requested the assistance of a grader to clear the road so that they could reach the trapped people with a crawler.

In total, 16 firefighters with 5 vehicles attempted to free the 5 men, among them the O.O.E.D of the 1st EMAK, while the army also met with machines.
