In ban on gatherings for tomorrow, Saturday, in the center of Athens, ELAS proceeded as there is a risk of incidents, as emphasized in a relevant announcement.
Tomorrow at 19:00 Golden Dawn has announced a gathering at the Memorial of Fallen Dead in Rigillis Square, while earlier they have planned counter-concentrations at the same point from left collectives.
The announcement in detail:
It is announced that by decision of the Director of the Athens Police Department, the holding of any outdoor public gathering is prohibited, from 06:00′ on 3-2-2024 to 06:00′ on 4-2-2024 in the area enclosed by the streets- Avenues: Vasileos Konstantinou Avenue – Rizari – Vasileos Sofias Avenue – Vasileos Georgiou I – Syntagma Square – Othonos – Vasileos Amalias Avenue – Vasileos Olgas Avenue.
As emphasized in the announcement, the ban is imposed as there is a serious risk to public safety due to the possible commission of serious crimes and there is a threat of serious disruption of socio-economic life in the area in question, in view of the realization of announced gatherings.
