After five years of inactivity, terrorism is re-emerging. Police investigations are looking for the thread of possible connection of the new terrorists to the People’s Fighters group and the Revolutionary Struggle, who had even carried out similar bombings, the last one in 2018 at the expense of SKAI.

From the People’s Fighter Group and the Revolutionary Struggle, to the planting of a bomb by the Revolutionary Class Self-Defense. After five years in obscurity, terrorism is emphatically returning to the limelight.

Now the Greek police and the special services of the body are called to deal with it the specter of neo-terrorism.

December 2018

In December 2018, the terrorist organization People’s Fighters Group planted a powerful bomb outside the premises of SKAI and Kathimerini.

They had placed the bomb in a backpack and the explosion caused extensive damage to the building, as well as to neighboring apartment buildings.

December 2017

On December 22, 2017, four OLA terrorists riding in a van planted a bomb in the Court of Appeal of Athens, and also shot at a police officer.

The explosion destroyed all the windows of the Court of Appeal and the perpetrators set the getaway vehicle on fire.

January 2009

In January 2009, members of the Revolutionary Struggle opened fire on the Ministry of Culture, injuring a police officer.

February 2009

In February of the same year, the Revolutionary Struggle carries out a bomb attack on a bank in Kifissia.

March 2009

In March, terrorists targeted a bank branch in Nea Ionia, in which they placed a bomb.

September 2009

In September, members of the Revolutionary Struggle blow up a car rigged with explosives that they had placed outside the Athens Stock Exchange.

April 2014

The last hit by the Maziotis-Roupa group was on April 10, 2014, targeting the Bank of Greece building, on Amerikis Street.

The explosion had caused extensive damage with thousands of windows breaking and the explosion being noticeable from a great distance.
