At shackssince the late 80s, reportedly resided, three multi-faceted Roma familieswho have been causing daily problems to the neighbors and residents of the area for at least twenty years.
“The neighbors have been taking actions for at least 20 years to demolish them, which have now borne fruit. They created a lot problems, commotions many, they set fires, we couldn’t work, we had thefts etc. Yesterday, people came out on the balconies and shouted “we have been vindicated”. We are in favor of upgrading the area”, said the owners of the gr-eshop online store located on Tripotamou Street.
It is noted that the demolition work was completed yesterday, however, the ruins remain at the site.
Residents of the area who spoke to “Radio Thessaloniki” ask for the ruins to be removed immediately and for work to begin to create a beautiful green space for their children.
