The authorities are looking for the motives of the 76-year-old “Aris” in order to identify what prompted his hand to kill three people before taking his own life, or the possible moral perpetrator of the murderous attack on the shipping company in Glyfada. At the same time, Despina Karnesi, the co-owner of the company, is the “key” person for the authorities to shed further light on the case and the motives of the 76-year-old.

The announcement issued yesterday by the shipping company, European Product Carriers provides answers to some questions and sheds light on some aspects of the case. Specifically, according to what SKAI journalist Theodosis Panou reported on the show “Mismatches”, through the announcement it is known that the house in Glyfada where the 76-year-old Egyptian lived does not belong to Maria Karnesi, therefore she had not given it to him in order to can then evict him.

Secondly, in the company’s announcement it is pointed out that the 76-year-old had not only received a fairly large sum of money, 74,000 euros, upon his dismissal from the company, but as it is emphasized “the murderer had no financial need since he had bank accounts”. As the authorities found after an investigation into his bank accounts, the 76-year-old had a joint bank account with his sister in Switzerland where 1,500,000 euros have been transferred from him, while he also has 500,000 euros in a bank account in a Greek bank. These are large sums with which the 76-year-old could have lived even after he was fired.

Deposits and the “key” person

A “key” person in the case is Despina Karnesis which is expected to testify to the authorities in the coming days as she is still in a state of shock. THE Spyros Karnesis, the other brother lives permanently in London and due to a serious health problem he is facing will not be able to give a statement to the police.

At the same time, sources report that when the 76-year-old perpetrator entered the building and argued with Maria Karnesi, he then locked Despina Karnesi in hers. However, they remain unconfirmed so far.

The company’s offices in Glyfada are operating today, Wednesday, as normal with the climate being particularly heavy and the company assuring its employees both in the offices and on the ships that the company will continue to operate normally under the supervision of Despina Karnesis.

They are looking for the weapons trail

At the same time, the police investigating the supply of weapons used by the perpetrator found that they were quite old, unregistered and without any possession permit.

The police do not rule out that the weapons came from the villa in Petaliou where he was the caretaker and for this reason were unregistered, while they are also investigating a trip that the perpetrator seems to have made last Thursday to Petaliou, i.e. 4 days before the murderous attack.

How did the attack happen?

From the testimonies of the people who came face to face with the perpetrator, the route and the way he acted inside the company was mapped in parts and differs a little from the initial estimates.

He had taken the bag with him, went to the second floor, left it on the steps in front of the office of the 77-year-old owner, there was intense dialogue and controversy. The 76-year-old left the office and the unfortunate woman closed the door. The perpetrator then took the gun and shot the door and herself in the shoulder. The 77-year-old managed to escape initially and go to the first floor which was the office of her son-in-law who was the first victim as the 83-year-old man was shot when he went to close the glass door. He then shot the 77-year-old owner in the head with the same shotgun. The unfortunate captain managed to wrest the gun from him, however the assailant took out the revolver from his jacket pocket, shot and killed him.
