Mr. Vainas stated that the server was closed for 1 hour with the agreement of the vice-chancellor Mr. Efstathopoulos
About the problem in the operation of the EKPA server that was presented on Wednesday morning, as part of the reaction to the government’s bill for non-state universities, the member of the Executive Committee of ADEDY Pantelis Vainas spoke to SKAI and the show SIMERA saying that it was about “symbolic server shutdown”.
Mr. Vainas stated that the server was shut down for 1 hour with the agreement of the vice-chancellor Mr. Efstathopoulos.
“On Monday at the Informatics center of EKPA there was a mobilization of the Association of Administrators which had been made public since Friday. The mobilization was not aimed at doing any sabotage. She had a request in which there was an agreement to shut down the server symbolically to show her opposition to non-state universities. The students didn’t get anything they waited for an hour. Every mobilization has a cost”, he said and added: “The building was closed, no one entered, in the presence of the head of the department we asked for a break.
The vice chancellor and I discussed in an open hearing as part of a negotiation how long the server will be “down”, the server shutdown was done remotely. Mr. Efstathopoulos agreed. The interruption was made in consultation between the head of the department and Mr. Efstathopoulos. There are witnesses and journalists who were in front. We had an hour break.”
