The best news photosare going to be awarded on Friday 23 February at 19.00 at the Lighthouse of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center (KPSIN).

The Athens Photo Worldawards photographers and photojournalists who live and work in Greece and Cyprus, for the fifth consecutive year since 2019

The judges of this year’s committee, Panagiotis Pappas (photographer and Artistic Director of Photometria), Nikos Pilos (photographer and photojournalist) and Katia Christodoulou Katerina Christodoulou evaluated the submitted works and shortlisted the three finalists, who (in alphabetical order) they are:

  • Antonios Pasvantis with the work The last community
  • Nikos Priporas with the work Westland, a photographic exploration of the western side of Thessaloniki
  • Panagiotis Rontos with the work Mola

The winner will receive the amount of €2,000 (financial grant from the Ministry of Culture).
The second finalist will have the opportunity to work with the Greek chapter of Doctors Without Borders (MSF) on a future mission.
The third finalist will receiveit’s a mirrorless camera, offer of Galaios Photostore – Galaios Photographic Supplies.

The winner of this year’s APWA2023 Prize money will be announced at a special event held at the SNFCC Lighthouse.
