This is an important service, which reduces bureaucracy and improves the level of protection of citizens’ data, as the performance will be done immediately electronically, without transferring documents in physical form.
Electronically through poinikesepidoseis.gov.grare taking place from today the performance of criminal orders, subpoenas and subpoenasfollowing the Joint Ministerial Decision (Government Gazette B’ 403/2024) of the Ministers of Digital Governance, Dimitris Papastergiou, Justice, Giorgos Floridis and the Deputy Minister of National Economy and Finance, Athanasios Petralias.
This is an important service, with which bureaucracy is reduced and the level of protection of citizens’ data is upgradedas the performance will be done immediately electronically, without transferring documents in physical form.
Furthermore, human resources are saved for the Public Administrationwith the release of a significant number of judicial officers and police personnel, who has been entrusted with this work.
Initially, the digital performances will start from the Athens Prosecutor’s Office.
The criminal performance will be carried out through the poinikesepidoseis.gov.gr platform in the following ways :
Either automatically, where the platform receives a document from the Integrated Civil and Criminal Justice Case Management System of the Ministry of Justice (OSSDY-PP) through interoperability and sends it to the citizen’s mailbox at gov.gr.
Either manually, where the authorized employee of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, court clerk or authorized bailiff authenticates with Public Administration codes on the platformcreates the document and completes the required elements of the document, using the interoperability of the Civil Registry (YPES) ​​and the Tax Registry (AADE).
Subsequently, the platform sends the document to the citizen’s mailbox at gov.gr.
In both cases, the document in the Citizen’s Mailbox acquires the validity characteristics of electronic documents of the Unified Digital Portal gov.grwhile the interested parties or witnesses are automatically informed of the service by SMS to the mobile phone number and by email to the electronic address, which they have registered in the National Register of Communications, at emep.gov.gr.
The project was funded by the Operational Programme “Public Sector Reform” of the NSRF and was implemented by the Information Society (KtP M.A.E.), central hub for planning and implementation of the projects of the Ministry of Digital Governance, with the contribution of the National Network of Technology and Research Infrastructures (EDYTE S.A. – GRNET), an organization of the Ministry of Digital Governance.
The necessary interoperability is implemented through the Interoperability Center of the General Secretariat of Information Systems and Digital Governance of the Ministry of Digital Governance.
It is worth noting that by digitizing the performance of these three criminal documents, which annually reach about 170,000, it is expected that about 1/3 of the police personnel, currently employed in performance, will be released. It is estimated that an average of 670 police officers are required per day. Indicatively, in 2023, 1,193,257 criminal, civil, administrative and military documents were served.
