In its recent meeting, the Regional Committee of the Central Macedonia Region approved the acceptance of the execution and financing of the project.
In Bled, Slovenia, the public library is a special architectural creation that resembles not so much a building as a forest.
Walls, ceilings and floors are “clad” in wood, offering anyone in the library an earthy feeling and a friendly environment.
Its creators followed the Bauhaus school of art and architecture in its construction, while the participants in the European project “Bauhaus4MED” aspire to apply this philosophy to the urban environment, in order to propose green sustainable solutions in urban residential areas, to emphasize aesthetics and to use crowdfunding methods for their implementation.
“The Bauhaus school of architecture began at the beginning of the 20th century in Germany as a style of minimalist architecture for industrial design.
Since then it has evolved and become an institution. Now, through the European project Bauhaus4MED, it is sought to mature the thinking of the city dwellers, so that they can participate in the creation of highly aesthetic and sustainable projects that will make people feel good in the urban environment” Nikolaos Papadopoulos, director, points out to APE – BPE of the project on the part of the Department of European Programs and Partnerships of the Autonomous Directorate of Innovation and Entrepreneurship of the Region of Central Macedonia.
He considers that a typical example of the new European Bauhaus for the green transformation of the cities and regions of Europe, could be the creation of vegetable gardens on the roofs of buildings so that there is a kind of natural insulation from heat and sound, with the parallel benefits to the aesthetics of the spaces and the mood of the residents. The Bauhaus4MED project co-financed by the European Program Interreg – EuroMed 2021-2027, aspires to act as an expression of an interdisciplinary movement between the worlds of science, technology, art and culture, encouraging citizens to formulate their proposals and collaborate between them.
Within the framework of the program, the establishment of sustainable development support nodes is expected, which will prepare and draw up the regional strategy and the action plan for the green transition. In each region, after all, local Bauhaus festivals will be organized with the themes of green transformation through aesthetics, sustainability and participation. In addition, according to Mr. Papadopoulos, competitions will be organized in which young men and women from the disciplines of architecture, urban planning, arts and other fields can participate, in order to submit their ideas, the best of which will be awarded.
In its recent meeting, the Regional Committee of the Central Macedonia Region approved the acceptance of the execution and financing of the project.
