A work accident resulting in the injury of an aerialist occurred in Polygyros of Halkidiki.
The aerial worker was performing damage restoration work when he was struck by lightning from a Substation current on a Medium Voltage line, according to a GENOP announcement. He was taken to the hospital, where he is being treated with multiple burns, but his life is not in danger.
As GENOP states in its statement: “Another very serious work accident, with the victim of a colleague of our DEDDIE worker, occurred in Polygyros, Halkidiki. In particular, an aerial worker, working on damage restoration work, was struck by lightning from a Substation current on a Medium Voltage line, as a result of which he was taken to the hospital, where he is being treated with multiple burns on his body, fortunately without danger to his life.
