Prisoner the key person
The anti-terrorist units proceeded to bring in six suspects, while four other people allegedly involved in bombings were located in prisons in the province. One person is considered by the police as the “key man”, as he is known in the anti-authoritarian space, with a series of texts, through which he is allegedly even connected to domestic terrorism.
According to information, the arrests are related to the bomb attack on a bank in Petralona about a month ago, for which the newly emerging organization “Vengeance Conspiracy” claimed responsibility. The police are examining its relationship with other attacks, such as the bomb at the Ministry of Labor, but also with the shipment of a parcel bomb to the Thessaloniki courthouse.
The arrests took place in Exarchia, Domokos prisons and in another Detention Center outside Attica. Three of those involved, who were prisoners, allegedly gave orders for the bombings from their cells. These are people with a heavy criminal past.
As we mentioned above, one of them is considered by the police to be the key person due to his relationship with the anti-authoritarian space. His name was even mentioned in the text of the organization’s announcement, with which it claimed responsibility for the explosion at the bank in Petralona.
In addition to the bank in Petralona, the same organization had taken responsibility for the arson attack that took place last November in Kifissia, at the offices of a construction company related to the Calatrava shelter.
Last July, the Revenge Partnership targeted the car of a Korydallos prison officer. The members of the organization threw a grenade at the car that was parked in an open-air parking lot in Haidari, as a result of which it suffered extensive material damage from the explosion.
