With a chilling plot, her students School of Fine Arts of the Aristotle University of ThessalonikiThey commemorated the victims of the Tempe train accident, among whom were AUTH students.
On the occasion of the completion of one year since the tragedy in Tempi, students from the 5th Painting Workshop, of the Department of Visual and Applied Arts of the School of Fine Arts, organized on Wednesday evening a shocking event entitled “In Memory-Memory against Oblivion”, outside from the administration building of AUTH, which was attended by a large number of people to honor the memory of those killed in the Tempe accident.
With the help of technology, they recreated the horrific moments of the collision between the two trains which claimed the lives of 57 people. Horror, agony, and then silence.
The event was surrounded by suitcases and backpacks that the organizers and attendees had left next to the statue of Aristotle, for the 57 dead who never reached their destination. In the center, a giant black banner with the names of the AUTH students who were killed in the accident.
A large number of people were present at the event, who honored the memory of the dead with lit candles. On the sidelines of the action, the students of the School of Fine Arts loudly shouted the names of the AUTH students who were killed in the deadly conflict, while a minute’s silence was observed in memory of the dead.
