Photos have come to light of the weapons found and confiscated during the police operation of the Anti-Terrorist Service (D.A.E.B.E.B.) that took place on February 27, 2024, in Athens and in detention centers in the province for the arrest of persons involved in terrorist attacks.

-10- nationals are accused of the case, of which -6- were arrested, while -4- are already locked up in detention facilities.

In particular, they are accused of – as the case may be – participation in and joining a terrorist organization, criminal support and provision of essential information, attempted murder, violence against officials and judicial persons, explosion, manufacture and possession of explosive materials, damage to foreign property and violation of arms legislation.

So far, five cases have been resolved, namely:

1) dispatch of a folder laced with explosives to the Thessaloniki Courthouse, which was found on 02-12-2024,

2) explosion of an improvised explosive device in a bank branch in Petralona on 25-01-2024,

3) explosion of an improvised explosive device on 11-13-2023 in a building complex in Kifissia, where a company is housed,

4) throwing a grenade on 07-08-2023 at a car owned by a prison officer, which was parked in the parking lot of an apartment building in Haidari and

5) throwing a grenade and exploding an improvised explosive device on 24-06-2023 in the yard of a house in Larissa.

What did they find in the investigations?

From the searches carried out in various places including 3 cells of detention centers and 9 houses, the following were found and confiscated:

  • battle rifle,
  • -3- pistols,
  • revolver,
  • carbine,
  • weapon parts,
  • quantities of explosives,
  • cartridges of various calibers,
  • mobiles, computers and portable storage devices (usb),
  • trace amounts of drugs,
  • -2- cars and motorcycle and
  • handwritten notes.

Investigations into their participation in other similar illegal actions are ongoing.

How the anti-terrorist got to the tracks of the 10 arrested – DNA of the military in the file – bombshell

It is recalled that the Prosecutor’s Office charges six serious felony charges and five misdemeanor charges, related to the action of a terrorist organization, against the 10 arrested for the “Revenge Conspiracy” organization. The police investigation in the meantime is running, completing the pieces of the puzzle of its action in which a 36-year-old prisoner and 2 military men had a special role.

On Tuesday morning, anti-terrorist officers carried out simultaneous searches in Nea Smyrni, Psychiko, Panormou and Pallini.

Fingerprint and DNA of the military man in the bomb case

The tangle that revealed the activities of the members of the organization began to unravel when a bomb was found in the envelope sent to the president of appeals in Thessaloniki fingerprint and genetic material belonging to a retired Army soldier.

The second soldier arrested was working as a professional gunner at the Tanagra Air Base. Both are being investigated for providing explosives and know-how to members of the organization.

Attack orders from inside the prisons

Guide and mastermind of the attacks, appears according to the police, a 36-year-old inmate of Domoko prison. He had carried out 4 robberies in 42 days, while he had not returned to the prisons after receiving leave. He was the person who recruited the members of the Revenge Coalition and the one who ordered the trapped file to be sent to the judiciary because she had not accepted the merger of his sentences.

The “blows” of the organization

According to the Greek Police, the organization had planted a bomb on January 25 in a bank branch in Petralona. On July 8, 2023, they threw a grenade at a prison car in Haidari. On June 24, a grenade was accidentally thrown into a citizen’s house in Larissa, while the target was the home of the director of the Larissa prisons. They also detonated a bomb outside the offices of a construction company in Kifissia.

The couple

A couple in the hands of the police allegedly played an important role in the explosion of the explosive device at the bank in Petralona on January 25, 2024. It appears that the couple in different vehicles, a car and a motorcycle, went to the bank, planted the explosive device that caused significant property damage, and then left in the different vehicles by different routes.
