As it became known, after the communication that the Deputy Minister of Development, Anna Mani, had with the president of ELGA, Andreas Lykourentzos, with the deputy governor of Pieria, Sofia Mavridou, and with the Mayor of Dion – Olympia, Vangelis Geroliolios, in order to discuss the actions for dealing with the serious damage that has been caused to the arable lands of the region due to the recent severe bad weather, from Thursday onwards – weather permitting – teams of ELGA and DAOK appraisers will go to the affected area with the aim of delimiting it, the exact identification of damaged crops and the initial assessment.

At a later stage, personalized assessments will be carried out to accurately record them to ensure effective and fair support for affected farmers.

As Mrs. Mani stated: “The government and the co-competent agencies are working in concert to speed up the process of repairing the damages, ensuring the support of the rural community in this difficult time.”
