For his contribution to the environmental sciences, the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki will honor the president of the Hellenic Open University, Professor Ioannis Kalavrouziotis, by awarding him an honorary doctorate from the Department of Spatial Planning and Development Engineering of the Polytechnic School.

The praise of the honoree will be read by the professor of the Department of Spatial Planning and Development Engineering of the AUTH, Dimitra Alexiou, after the greetings from the rector of the AUTH, Prof. Charalambos Feidas, the Dean of the Polytechnic School of the AUTH, Prof. Grigorio Papagianni and the President of the Department of Spatial Engineering and Development of AUTH, Prof. Elisavet Thoidou.
Mr. Kavrouziotis, who is strongly active in the research area of ​​environmental geochemistry, liquid and solid waste reuse, as well as ancient water and waste management technologies (Chairman of the International Water Union Management Committee on water in ancient civilizations), will made a speech, on the topic “The management of hydraulic – sewage systems of the ancient Greeks a guide for a modern sustainable development policy in the fields of infrastructure projects, education and the environment”.
