How will passengers be served during the temporary shutdown of “Maniatika” station
It will be closed tomorrow, Saturday 9/3 and Sunday 10/3, o “Maniatika” Metro station, due to the start of work on the installation of new electronic ticket equipment.
In particular, according to information from the OASA, the temporary stoppage of the station begins as part of the gradual implementation of the project for the installation of new entry/exit gates, ATMs (Automatic Card and Ticket Issuing Machines) and Management Centers and concerns six stations of the extension of line 3 “Agia Varvara”, “Korydallos “, “Nicaea”, “Maniatika”, “Piraeus”, “Municipal Theatre”.
The new gates and the AMEK that will be installed and put into operation in the coming months are part of the general framework of actions of the OASA that are implemented to improve the quality of the transportation services provided.
From Monday 11/3 when the “Maniatika” station will operate normally again, passengers will use the equipment that already existed (validation and automatic vending machines), installed in new seats.
The shutdown dates of the remaining 5 Metro stations, based on the established work schedule, will be announced in a later announcement, according to OASA.
How will passengers be served during the temporary shutdown of “Maniatika” station
In order to serve the passenger public due to the shutdown of the “Maniatika” station, OASA proceeded to modify the bus route 909 AGIOS VASILIOS-AGIA SOFIA-KRATIKO NICAIAS passing through this station, so that it passes through Nikaia Station and on two directions and to transfer the passengers of the area.
At the same time, from Maniatika Station, passengers will be able to be served in both directions by the existing lines 814 SCHISTOS-KARAVAS-PIRAEUS, 825 NEAPOLI-AGIOS ANTONIOS-PIRAEUS B as well as by bus line 824 NAPOLI-AGIOS ANTONIOS- PIRAEUS A in the direction of Piraeus.
In addition, the timetable of bus line 909 has been extended:
