Two-hour work stoppage today from 13:00 to 15:00 the hospital doctors will hold a rally at the “Evangelismos” hospital.

The ND government is taking off the policy of commercialization and privatization of health. Instead of hiring all the necessary permanent staff to operate the closed operating theaters (130 out of 200 are operating throughout Attica) and so that all patients can be operated on time, without being forced to pay again, he imposes a legal state “pocket” on the evening paid surgeries.
The remaining patients are condemned to wait on digital waiting lists. We know very well that the afternoon service will be at the expense of the morning service.
As the Minister of Health has made clear many times, he does not intend to hire the necessary staff to operate the closed operating rooms. Instead it enables private individuals to enter the hospital and bring or find “clientele”.
We will not allow this stunt to take place! We are not going to become complicit in the further privatization of the Public Health System.
We require:
-Exclusive Public & Free Health for everyone with high level services.
-Increasing the state budget for Health.
-Mass recruitment of permanent staff of all specialties and permanence
of contractual colleagues.
-Substantial increases in our salaries.
– Decent and safe working conditions. Joining the BAE.
Hospital doctors will never treat the patient as a customer and health as a commodity.”
The OENGE
For its part, the Federation of Associations of Hospital Doctors of Greece (OENGE) which calls for “the work stoppage from 1:00 to 3:00 and the mobilization at Evangelismos hospital at 2:30, against the fiesta of shame that the Ministry of Health is preparing”, points out: “A price list does not enter into health and life.
